FAQs

How does this start?

After receiving your request I offer a free initial consultation of up to 20 minutes, either online or on the phone. This is an opportunity for you to discuss what is going on for you and share your expectations of therapy. It is also a chance for us to see together how I might be able to help you and how we both feel about working together. An initial consultation does not mean committing to therapy but we can discuss what might suit you and how to proceed.

How long will my therapy be?

Each therapy is different. For some a short course of 6 sessions can be enough, for others ongoing open-ended therapy is preferable, and there is everything in between. Generally, in the initial consultation we will discuss a therapy plan and review accordingly.

How long is each session? And how often are they?

Each session is 50 minutes. Typically we will have one session per week.

Where do you work?

I work both in person at Space To Be You therapy rooms in Hackney, London and online via Zoom. I do not hold sessions on the phone, unless accessibility permits.

What happens if I cannot make the session?

It is important to the progress of therapy that as far as possible, sessions are regular. It has been shown that regular attendance leads to better outcomes.

Nevertheless, if you do need to cancel there is a 7 day cancellation policy wherein you will not be charged for the session.

How do I know you are the right therapist for me?

Listen to your gut. At the initial consultation it is important to discover if there is a good client-therapist fit. My approach is relational and integrative so I see the co-participation between client and therapist to be vital.

It may take more than just the initial consultation for us to get to that point, but it is important that we feel we can work together.

Are you qualified?

I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Minster Centre. I am a registered member of the BACP.

How much does it cost?

I offer a standard rate of £80 per session.
